Our Story
1964
Martin’s Eggs began in 1964, when Lester Martin, with the help of his father Ellis, purchased a small community egg huckster route. In those early days, Lester gathered eggs from neighboring farms and delivered them directly to markets throughout Lancaster County and Philadelphia. The business was simple, honest, and built on relationships—qualities that continue to guide us today.
1972
Martin’s installed new, state of the art egg grading and washing equipment.
1987
Installed an egg grader and washer with electronic scales to process 120 cases an hour.
1994
Expanded our product line to add processed eggs and dairy products.
As demand grew, we expanded from just distributing eggs to washing, grading, and packing them ourselves. Over the decades, new equipment replaced old, and the business steadily outgrew each building and machine we used.
2005
Martin’s Eggs moved into a new facility and broadened operations beyond shell eggs to include processed egg products and select dairy items. Continued growth soon required additional expansions.
2016
By 2016, we began hard-cooking our own eggs
2018
followed in 2018 by acquiring ownership in our own flocks
2021
In 2021, we welcomed new territory by purchasing a small distributor in Northeast Pennsylvania.
Through each season of change, our purpose remained the same: to provide customers with quality egg products and dependable service.
